Edith Hall is Professor of Classics at Durham University

She specialises in Ancient Greek literature but engages with all aspects of Greek and Roman history, society and thought. She is renowned for her studies on ethnicity, class and gender in ancient sources.

Edith has published many widely-acclaimed books, including Inventing the Barbarian, Classics and Class, and Aristotle's Way.

Edith is known for her extensive appearances on radio and television, as well as her continuing dedication to making the ancient world accessible to new audiences.
