At time of recording, Edith was Professor of Classics at Kings College, London.
She specialises in Ancient Greek literature but engages with all aspects of Greek and Roman history, society and thought. She is renowned for her studies on ethnicity, class and gender in ancient sources.
Edith has published several books, including Inventing the Barbarian and Aristotle's Way.
Tom is a celebrated historian, author and broadcaster.
He specialises in classical antiquity, Islam, and the birth of Western thought.
Tom is the presenter of BBC Radio 4's Making History and has published several books. His recent works include Dominion: the Making of the Western Mind.
Both are known for their extensive appearances on radio and television, as well as their continuing dedication to making the ancient world accessible to new audiences.
